The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca hosted the first Capacity Building Workshop of the Erasmus+ EDUVET project during 11–22 May 2026, bringing together academic teams from UTM, CMV and USAMV Cluj-Napoca for an intensive week of collaborative curriculum work.

Over the course of the workshop, participants worked systematically through the full cycle of course and syllabus development for the 10 courses selected for modernisation within the Veterinary Medicine programme. The week opened with an analysis of curriculum evaluation results and identification of existing gaps, followed by sessions on EU competency requirements under Directive 2005/36/EC, EAEVE accreditation standards, and best practices from European veterinary faculties.

Working in groups, participants mapped EU-required competencies to each course, developed learning outcomes using Bloom’s taxonomy, and defined syllabus structures covering content, teaching methods, student workload, ECTS allocation, and assessment. The final working days were dedicated to integrating all components into the first complete syllabus draft for each of the 10 courses.

By the close of CBW-1, the teams had produced the foundational outputs needed to advance Milestone MS7 and lay the groundwork for Deliverable D2.1 – new and updated courses and syllabuses. The workshop’s recommendations will be reviewed and further developed at CBW-2 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and CBW-3 in Zaragoza, Spain.
